After falling in love with the food and culture of Spain on a trip in 2001, Bar Pintxo Chef David Plonowski deciding to stay and enrolled in a culinary program at the University of Salamanca. After the program he continued to work in Salamanca mastering the cuisine and Castilian language. 

In 2012 he left Spain for Santa Monica to work as the Executive Chef for Joe Miller's Spanish Restaurant, Bar Pintxo.

Today, David's philosophy is to elevate Old World Spanish dishes to new heights with modern cooking techniques, market driven produce and only the freshest of ingredients.
